Why Blogging Matters:

Blogging is the cornerstone of internet marketing. It accomplishes several things at once.

First, it signals to Google that you are updating your website regularly, which helps with SEO rankings.

Second, blogging allows you to target keywords that maybe different then your exact product or service offering.

Think "what you need to know about form 1040 schedule c 2020" in stead of "Tax Professional Services". Your potential customers are Googling lots of different topics. Blogs let you be there for them in lots of different ways.

Lastly, blogging gives you the opportunity to turn site visitors into leads through forms and buttons at the end of a blog. Think about how often you've read something and then requested more information or downloaded some additional materials.

What to Expect from Your Blogging Efforts:

You can expect a 3x to 10x increase in your website traffic over the first year depending on your current traffic and assuming you blog once a week.

Before You Start Blogging, Ask Yourself:

Is approximately 8 hours a month of your time worth 3x to 10x increase in site traffic?

Execute your plan.

Let the rubber meet the road. Each task will take a little time to master; however, by posting weekly and reviewing your content each month, your blogging will increase site traffic.

We suggest linking the step by step guides and templates to your task calendar to make it easy to complete your tasks.
Monthly Task Execution
  • Create a blog outline

It is important to outline your titles, subtitles and headers before writing your blog.  Outlining a month's worth of blogs will help you stay consistant with your messaging for the month.

Typically, each blog will consist of a title, image, subtitle and a few headers or bullet points.

View our blogging outline template to get started.

And check out our how-to guide for writing a blog.

  • Review impact of your blogs

Weekly Task Execution
  • Write and post your blog

The simplest thing to do is... open up a Google Doc or Word Doc and start writing about the last job you did or the last sales conversation you had.

Then go back through and make sure you have a title, subtitle, image, and some subheaders.

Assess your plan.

It is important to give your blog some time to generate leads. Equally important is reviewing the effort of the marketing campaign vs the results.

If it's going good, put more into it.  If not, adjust to see what you can do to get more out of it.

Adjust and Repeat

Don't give up on blogging if you are not seeing an immediate, direct impact. Try adjusting your content.  Think about why would your audience care about your message. And most importantly, make sure you answer the question "what's in it for me?" (me being your audience).

If it is working, try finding other blogs where you can guest post. Also, try boosting some social posts that link to your blog.
