The First Step In Content 📝 Marketing Is Creating Novel Content. Learn How

Justin Babcock • January 8, 2021

Back to the basics. The first step in content marketing is creating great content.

Content can be as simple as a single line of text posted to social media or as complex as a 10,000 page website.

With such a wide spectrum of
what content is, how do you wrap your head around the “content” in content marketing.

We break it down into three simple things.

  1. Copywriting
  2. Video creation
  3. Image creation

Each type of content can be posted, shares, and/or distributed on its own. The content can also be combined in various ways. But before you can think about distribution. You have to create. So, here’s how...

âś…Create Copy

âś…Open a Google Doc or Microsoft Word

âś…Write a title 30 to 100 Characters long

âś…Write a description 200 -  1000 words long

âś…Write 3 to 5 tags

âś…Create a Video

  • Open your camera app on your phone or computer
  • Record your video
  • Click on the share link and email the video to yourself
  • Save to your computer’s desktop
  • (Optional) edit video
  • Windows recommended editor:  Filmora 9
  • Mac recommended editor: iMovie

âś…Take a screenshot from the video OR pick a stock photo

The most important thing is to have fun with it! If you are passionate about your message, it will come through in your content. Don’t worry about production value. 80% of marketing is about getting your message out to the public.
