How Content Supports Your Digital Marketing Effort

What content do you have, know, or can create that your audience might value?

Sometimes this is a tough question to answer. You know your business intuitively. When asked about a problem, you have the answer.

Our suggestion for getting started... Think about frequently asked questions.

When talking to a prospective customer, what do they typically ask? What does a person with a good fit ask? What questions let you know they will be a bad customer?

Now take your questions and answers and turn it into website pages, blog posts, landing pages, videos, podcasts, white papers, infographics, images, tag lines, ebooks, webinars, quiz/polls, or courses. Where your content lives is dependent on your industry and business. If you ever need help building out your content platforms, we are here to help.

We will set up the system for you, teach you how to use it, and support you. We believe the best marketing comes from a DIY approach and a little expert coaching.

Why Distribution Matters

How can you reach your audience?

We've seen it time and time again. People create great content and then distribute it through a single platform. Businesses get good feedback but poor results.

Our suggestion for distribution... send the content through as many distribution channels as possible!

If you create a great video, you need to post to as many social media outlets as possible. The common mistake is to post to just Facebook, or just Twitter, or just LinkedIn. Instead, you should blast it through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Google My Business, WhatsApp, Tumblr, Pinterest, Tik Tok, and any other free outlet.

You also need to email the content to your prospects and customers/clients. You need to post it to your website, so it's available for search engines like Google. You need to set up digital ads where appropriate. The main thing you need to do is take advantage of all the digital distribution options.

While this sounds like a lot, it's not. Once you have a business system in place and the distribution becomes repetitive, you can distribute your content in about a half-hour. The key to success, have the systems in place. That's what we do. We help you build the system and then let you take over, contact us to get started.

Why Conversion is Key to Digital Marketing

What does your audience do to start the sales cycle?

Great digital marketing starts with the end in mind. What do you want a stranger (target), prospect, or customer to do? Call you? Fill out a form? Buy online? Email you? Download something?

When you start with the end in mind, your content will become more concise, and your distribution model will become clear.

Our suggestion... start simple. Something like contact us to learn more attached to a form, phone number, or email.

While simple is not going to have killer results, it is a great way to get started.

Remember, your first swing is not going to hit a home run. As you build content, manage distribution methods, and create conversion opportunities, you are learning. There is a learning curve, and it takes time.

However, once the machine is built, it takes minimal maintenance and cranks out leads.

Don't Forget About the Sales Process

What do you need to do to complete the sale?

In general, you got this. Your business thrives because the business knows how to sell.

However, digital leads can be a little different. Strangers that become prospects take a little time to warm up. They can be skeptical at first.

Our suggestion... make sure to repurpose some of your content and use it in the sales process.

If your content is good enough to get people excited, it should also be used to help with the sales process.

In the ever-evolving digital landscape, establishing an online presence is paramount for every business. A well-structured and designed website can greatly enhance your brand's visibility and credibility. However, the process of creating a website can be daunting, especially when confronted with decisions like the cost of hiring a designer, how to find a suitable one, or opting for a do-it-yourself (DIY) approach using website builders like Wix or Squarespace. Making an informed choice can be challenging, but it's not impossible. Figuring Out Your Budget and Time: The Classic Decision Building a website involves an investment of both time and money. Hiring a designer can cost between $100 to $200 per website page, whereas setting up a website yourself might consume around 4 hours per page. It's a classic time or money conundrum that forces you to reassess your priorities. Do you have the design skills to build a website yourself? If not, using DIY applications may extend the time it takes for you to establish your online presence. However, if your budget is tight, investing your time into learning and implementing the process might be a viable option. DIY Website Builders: A Blessing or a Curse? Website builders like Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress have made website creation accessible to everyone, regardless of technical expertise. But are they always the best choice? Wix Pros: Wix offers an intuitive drag-and-drop interface and a variety of templates, which make it easy for beginners to create a website. It also provides advanced features for more seasoned users. Cons: The flexibility of Wix can also be its downfall, as the wide range of options can be overwhelming. Its SEO capabilities have been criticized, and the free plan comes with ads. Squarespace Pros: Squarespace is known for its sleek, professional design templates. It offers comprehensive features and excellent customer support. Cons: Squarespace's pricing is slightly higher compared to other builders, and the platform can be less intuitive for first-time users. WordPress Pros: WordPress offers incredible flexibility and control, with thousands of themes and plugins. It's a great choice for blogs due to its strong content management system. Cons: WordPress has a steeper learning curve compared to other builders, and you may need to handle updates and security measures manually.
