Whole-home contractor: mold, insulation, construction and consulting | Lewiston, ME

Mattra Inc.: a whole-home contractor site with nine lead tools

Mattra Inc. is a whole-home contractor in Lewiston, Maine, handling mold, insulation, construction and consulting work across the state. We gave them a new contractor website design, moving them off Duda to an 87-page site with nine lead-capture tools, an Efficiency Maine rebate engine and a private admin portal.

About Mattra

Mattra calls itself Maine's whole-home experts: one team that diagnoses a house as one system and fixes the root cause, from mold remediation to insulation and air sealing to rot and water-damage repair. Based in Lewiston and an Efficiency Maine Registered Vendor, it gets about half its business from realtor referrals and inspections. So the contractor website design had to work for homeowners and real estate agents at the same time.

The challenge

Why They Came to Us

Mattra's site ran on Duda. In their intake, they told us realtors' deals were failing over mold and poor insulation, and homeowners were dealing with drafty houses, high heating costs and a fear of losing rebates.

  • About half the business came from realtor referrals and inspections, so real estate agents needed their own path.
  • Mold, insulation, construction and consulting each needed a clear path and stronger search visibility.
  • Efficiency Maine rebate rules are detailed, and every figure on the site had to match the program.
  • 21 blog posts and the old Duda addresses had to come along.
  • Leads needed to land in GoHighLevel, Mattra's sales system.
The plan

What We Proposed

We proposed positioning Mattra as Maine's whole-home experts and building the site around one question for every visitor: what's going on in your home?

  • About 48 service and support pages, organized into 7 sections.
  • Calculators for rebates and project costs, a step-by-step diagnostic form for homeowners and a priority form for realtors.
  • Smart lead routing into GoHighLevel.
  • A 7 to 9 week timeline. The site went live about 7 weeks after the build started.
The build

What We Built

Website

An 87-page static site on Vercel, live about seven weeks after the build started.

  • Sections for mold, insulation, construction, consulting and other services, plus an Efficiency Maine hub, a For Realtors page, a mold library and glossary, calculators and service areas.
  • 21 blog posts migrated from Duda, with new posts added since; the blog held 24 posts in October 2026.
  • Old Duda addresses still work: 10 legacy paths load directly, and 31 redirect rules cover renamed and truncated slugs.
  • Structured data on 83 of 94 HTML files, including 50 FAQ blocks with 272 questions and answers.
  • 62 images converted to WebP, from 87 MB down to 6.2 MB, with width and height set on all 139 image tags.

Lead tools and rebate engine

Nine lead-capture tools, all feeding one lead pipeline.

  • A multi-step What's Going On? diagnostic form, the main call to action across the site.
  • Save The Deal, a priority form for realtors.
  • An Efficiency Maine rebate calculator, plus attic, spray foam and basement or crawl space cost estimators.
  • A five-step mold remediation questionnaire, a Green Bank payment planner and the Energy Savings Check ad landing page.
  • One rules file feeds the rebate calculator and all three estimators, and it switches programs by date.

Admin portal

A private back office for every lead, launched the same day as the site.

  • An inbox with unread state and a leads pipeline board.
  • An assessments view for calculator and diagnostic leads.
  • A Spam and Blocked view for filtered submissions.
  • A tool for AI-assisted blog publishing, plus Google sign-in and user management.

Google Ads and marketing audits

Paid search management backed by regular cross-platform audits.

  • Mattra was the first client on our cross-platform marketing audit, covering GA4, Search Console, Google Ads, GoHighLevel, stored leads and Google Business Profile.
  • The first audit ran July 9, 2026, and audits have run every week or two since August.
  • Ad copy rewritten across the Efficiency Maine insulation campaign, with new sitelinks, callouts, a structured snippet and a call asset.
  • Competitor and off-service negative keywords, plus the Energy Savings Check landing page built for paid traffic.
Problem solving

How We Solved the Hard Parts

  1. A state rebate program changed mid-year

Efficiency Maine switched from percentage-based rebates to flat per-area amounts for work completed on or after October 1, 2026. We built a rebate engine that switches programs by date, previewed the new copy with Mattra and added a guard that scans for old figures. At Mattra's request, the site switched to the new program early, on August 27, and a sweep of the live site found zero old-program claims.

  2. Every rebate claim had to match the program

We checked the calculators and copy against the program's own 61 documents, applied its limits for mobile homes and existing insulation, and removed claims no program document supports. The site uses the program's own term, Registered Vendor.

  3. Mold estimates needed their own path

We built a five-step mold remediation questionnaire and pointed every remediation estimate button to it. Within two weeks it brought in three estimate requests, two of them tied to real estate closings.

  4. Leads had to reach GoHighLevel and the team

Every form emails the team, stores the lead in the admin portal, logs it to a Google Sheet with a tab per form, and adds the contact to GoHighLevel. Each lead carries its first traffic source, including Google Ads click IDs.

Results

The Results So Far

Monthly leads stored in the admin portal grew from 31 in June, the first full month after launch, to 70 in September, and each month from June to September beat the one before. Website sessions are up 103% comparing the 90 days before the May 11, 2026 launch with the latest 90 days, and that count includes visitors from Google Ads.

Phone calls are not in the lead count, and September included the rush before the October 1 rebate change, so we are watching where fall settles. We keep reviewing GA4, Search Console, Google Ads, GoHighLevel and stored leads every week or two, and adjust from there.

Leads are website form and tool submissions stored in Mattra's admin portal, phone calls not included; sessions are GA4 totals across all channels, paid ads included.

Questions

Questions About This Project

How does Mattra's rebate calculator stay accurate when Efficiency Maine changes its rules?

All the rebate rules live in one file that switches programs by date, and the calculator and three cost estimators read from it. When the program changed in 2026, the update happened in one place instead of five separate files.

What happened to Mattra's old Duda links?

We migrated all 21 Duda blog posts. As of October 2026, 10 legacy paths still load directly, and 31 redirect rules send renamed and truncated Duda slugs to the right new pages.

How long did the Mattra website take to build?

About seven weeks, from the first commit on March 24, 2026 to launch on May 11, 2026, in line with the proposal's 7 to 9 week timeline.
